26th Annual Pacific Northwest Flute Gathering ONLINE a.k.a. “Vashon Island Flute Gathering” Monday, October 3 – Thursday, October 6, 2022 MUSIC FOR ALL

Now in its 26th year, the gathering on the beautiful Vashon Island in this Pacific Northwest, is one of the longest-running residential retreats featuring the Native American style flute, indigenous to the North American continent. The intimate location is a wooded setting directly on the beach of Puget Sound. All classes, concerts, meals and housing are on-site and are included in the retreat tuition. A range of housing accommodations is available either in cabins or the retreat center.

Space is limited at this popular multi-day retreat. Advance registration is required.

Flutestock in Elkton is an annual 3-day festival honoring the Native American Style Flute and its melodies during "open mic" days and evening concerts the third full weekend in July. Free. Please join us for ‘Flutes in the Park’, at the Bandshell in Lithia Park, near 138 Winburn Way, Ashland, OR 97520 (near the corner of Winburn Way and Nutley Street) on Saturday, May 14th, 2022. (There is parking along Winburn Way, and a Public Parking lot just before Nutley St., on Winburn Way). Look for the green signs!)

– 11:00 a.m. – ‘Open Mic.’ (open to all Flute Players by sign-up sheet).

– 2:00 p.m. – ‘Teaching Circle’ with Timothy, Joe, Geri, and Tommy. (We ask for a $10.00 to $20.00 CASH Donation, as there may be no Wi-Fi in the park). – Flutes will be available for sale, privately, from flute-makers. – Private flute lessons with any of the instructors may be arranged.

– 4:30 p.m. – ‘Peace & Unity’ Concert with Timothy JP Gomez, Joseph Young, Geri Littlejohn, and Tommy Graven! (we will have a ‘Tip Jar’, on-stage, for all performers).

WEATHER: is changeable in May – it can range from 60’s to 80’s, and we can have light wind and showers. Please dress in layers, bring a rain jacket with a hood, hat, or umbrella. Also, best to bring a small lawn chair, a snack, and some water. There are facilities and restaurants within walking distance. PARKING: is limited – there is Public Parking along Winburn Way (which follows the creek in the park), and there is a Public Parking lot on Winburn Way, just before Nutley Street. There is also parking on Granite Street, just South of the Granite St. and Nutley St. intersection. – This is a public park. Be sure to conceal valuables and lock your car – Disabled Parking is available at the Bandshell area, and the area is Wheelchair Accessible.

VOLUNTEERS: we need them! Please let us know if you would be willing to assist with Info. Table, Audio or Video, It’s easy and the perks are great! ~ thank you ~ we can’t function without you.

HEALTH & SAFETY: This is an open-air concert. We encourage everyone to keep a mask on their person to offer, as courtesy, when speaking to another. Common-sense distancing, and respect, will prevail. We will have a Sanitation Station at the Information Table. If you are feeling ill, or have a cough, or fever – do not attend. No alcohol, drugs, smoking, vaping, or open flame, of any kind, is allowed in the park.

PETS: Lithia Park is a No-Pets park, but there is shaded parking along Winburn Way, and there are dog-walking areas within a 1/4 block from the park.

Pacific Northwest Flute Gathering ONLINE 2021

Now in its 25th year, the gathering, traditionally held on the beautiful Vashon Island in this Pacific Northwest, our event is one of the longest-running retreats featuring the Native American style flute, indigenous to the North American continent.

Due to challenges and space requirements around the pandemic for holding an in-person residential retreat, this year’s event will again be held ONLINE through Zoom. Access to all classes, workshops, and concerts is included in the retreat tuition. Welcome to all players, no matter where you are, to join us online.

Pacific Northwest Native American Flute Gathering

Vashon Island Flute Gathering, Vashon Island, Washington

October 5th-October 8th 2017. Our gathering is lead by some of the finest teachers, performers and recording artists in the US. Their collaborative approach makes for a very dynamic and student-focused learning experience. In addition to the scheduled classes and concerts, each of the leaders is available for private lessons during the weekend retreat.

Timothy J.P. Gomez will be performing at the Abounding Grace Lutheran Church at 7:00pm on March 31st 2017 in Tucson, Arizona. Prior to the performance, Timothy will be conducting a 2 hour workshop entitled "Harnessing the Wind": How to use Articulation, Embellishments and Other Controlled Air Release Techniques on the Native American Style Flute to Inspirit Your Creativity and Refine Your Compositions.
